Noisy Trolley
A Pond?
The hole you see here
will be a pond in the rear of the layout. Once I scrape together enough money for the materials, I’ll cut the concrete roadbed you see at the back of this image and remove it, replacing the on-the-ground track there with a bridge.
Still not much actual “garden” in the train area. You’ll notice that the weeds are doing fine, though π

Lots Going On, No Pictures
There are lots of things happening in the G Scale world here at DanzBB. I’ve made more progress on the Neqida passenger cars–they’re all painted, pinstriped, and I’ve put on metal wheel sets. I’ve also installed track power pick-ups in two of them, along with voltage regulators so I can get 5v for the LEDs.

Local Train Shop
It’s a funny thing–I got into garden railroading here in central Kansas, a couple hundred miles from the nearest big city–but it turns out that there’s a neat store “near” here in Wichita called Garden Railway Gizmos that carries plenty of large scale stuff. The owner, Claudia, is knowledgeable, friendly, and always a pleasure to do business with. If you happen to be in this area, you should check it out:

Garden Started
I’m pretty excited to have started on the “garden” part of our garden railroad. Once I get this all sorted, I’ll be able to lay track :o)
First step: outline the terrace (at 20 x 70 feet, it’s not really a “raised bed” in any real sense) These are landscape timbers I got at Menards. Eventually the “wall” will be three timbers high.
Doesn’t look like muchΒ π
