This switch tower was having some issues. I’d used acetate for the windows, which was yellowing and deteriorating. Cracks in the windows were letting in dirt, the LEDs were fading, and the base was a little warped.
So it needed a lot of work. I made a new base from acrylic and put in replacement LEDs. Cleaned out the inside and replaced the windows with laser-cut acrylic. This is the one building on my layout where the inside is clearly visible, so it needs to look good inside.
I had to do a little repainting too. The figure outside was badly faded and the handles on the switches were looking poorly. I also repainted a few accessories inside (on the desk, mainly) that were a little faded. I also had to re-hang the clock.
Looks a lot better now.
