I&#8217;d used acetate for the windows, which was yellowing and deteriorating. Cracks in the windows were letting in dirt, the LEDs were fading, and the base was a little warped.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>So it needed a lot of work. I made a new base from acrylic and put in replacement LEDs. Cleaned out the inside and replaced the windows with laser-cut acrylic. This is the one building on my layout where the inside is clearly visible, so it needs to look good inside.<\/p>\n<p>I had to do a little repainting too. The figure outside was badly faded and the handles on the switches were looking poorly. I also\u00a0repainted a few accessories inside (on the desk, mainly) \u00a0that were a little faded. I also had to re-hang the clock.<\/p>\n<p>Looks a lot better now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This switch tower was having some issues.
